FM radios from the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia have the smallest coverage in Bulgaria, from all neighbouring countries. Quality reception is only possible in the southwest of the country— this is due to the mountainous terrain in this part of Bulgaria, preventing F.Y.R.O.M.-ian radios from expanding further into the country’s territory. The only exceptions are to be found in the region of Montana, in northwestern Bulgaria and around Smoljan in the Rhodopes mountain range in southern Bulgaria, where even signals from western F.Y.R.O.M. can be received. The strongest transmitters received in Bulgaria include (from west to east) Popova Shapka, Pelister, Crn Vrv, Turtel, Golak, Bukovik and a few other. |
